You can spend hours learning to give great fundraising pitches, but you’re probably wasting your time

Thank goodness! So happy to hear someone say this. I decided for my current venture I wouldn't even make a pitch deck (though I would try to have precise answers ready). Pitches, and pitch decks especially, create false negatives, and worse: occasional false positives. Conversations engage VCs so they are really present and involved, which is great for everyone. Pitch decks without conversations, on the other hand, add to VCs' anti-portfolios (see Version One's wonderfully humble anti-portfolio, for example). Thank you so much for writing this!
